This cell encourage students to come up with any virgin idea that can be hatched to make the world a better place for living and dwelling. The ideas are nurtured to verify whether any business proposition can be tagged to them before they are pipelined for an investment or pitched before the investors for a full fledged business venture.

Competency build-up in parameters like communication, presentation, thinking & analytical ability, managerial & leadership skill, team building & leading etc. can provide the desired competitive edge to a student to survive and thrive in the today’s corporate world. This is what exactly aspired for in the Competency Incubator and Assessment Centre (CIAC) of ASTHA School of Management. LANGUAGE LAB

The Language Lab of ASTHA School of Management, established with the help of Orell Digital Language Lab assists the students to improve their diction, vocabulary, articulation and English Language communication.

BEHAVIORAL MODIFICATION THROUGH OB LAB PROCESSES

Behavior is a unique quality of the animal kingdom. And when it comes to a supreme species like human, behavior undoubtedly becomes inimitable. As the human society is complex, and the cultures and living conditions are distinctive, a human being is expected to learn appropriate behavior. This behavior is taught at home, school, community congregation etc.

However, it has been found that professional students fail in certain behavioral competencies during the process of recruitment and selection. Modification in their behavior can make them competent and job ready.

Cetas- The OB Lab

Indigenously researched and designed, “Cetas- The OB Lab” at ASTHA School of Management is one of its kind in the region cementing a wonderful platform for understanding behavioral processes inevitable for attitude shaping and personal grooming. It provides the students with the insight required to transform themselves into well groomed individuals global managers and responsible citizens. With its frequent behavioural workshops coupled with various psychometrics tools, Focus groups & T-Group etc, Cetas- The OB Lab vouches for awakening the cetna of the students both at the conscious and subconscious and subconscious levels.

Organisation behavioral lab has been set up to conduct research employing control experimentation and for behavioral modification. Through different pedagogy we counsel student about their behavior and try to educate them about their personality traits. This, in turn, helps them to choose their domain areas and sector. In fact, OB Lab serves as a gangplank between the foundational competencies and occupation-specific competencies.

Resources

Highly qualified trainers are associated with the processes of behavioral training. Other technical resources include:

  • Psychometric tests: Aptitude and Attitude test like MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), T-test, TA (Transaction Analysis), NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), Johari Window etc. to map the competencies of students.
  • Outbound training programmes: Activities outside the classroom for experiential learning.
  • Focus groups: A Small group discussion to let the students understand each other ideas, feelings, perception and opinions.
  • Movie: Motivational movies are used to being about a change in student’s attitude and perception.

Outcome

After session of OB Lab, we expect to integrate the behavioral competencies and technical competencies of the students.

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

Good leadership is often cited as the key reason for organizational success. Today’s highly competitive corporate workplace demands high energy leaders to develop agile, resilient teams who can translate their vision into competitive advantage.

Leadership development activities are custom designed that provide a collaborative and participative learning platform where the participants get many opportunities to hone their strategic skills combating critical challenges. These activities also help the participants in connecting their learning to their existing knowledge and experience base.

DECISION MAKING

Decision making in an important skill for business and life. There are techniques (PEST analysis, SWOT analysis) to improve decision making and quality of decision. Decision making and problem solving are closely linked and each requires creativity in identifying and developing options.

Good decision making requires a mixer of skills: Creative development and identification of options, clarity of judgment, firmness of decision and effective implementation. For group problem solving and decision making or when a consensus is required, outbound training activity helps.

TEAMWORK

Team building means shaping the people into a productive force. Team building is an ongoing process that helps a group evolve into a cohesive unit. The team members not only share expectation for accomplishing group tasks, but trust and support one another and respect one another individual difference.

Team building activities and team games consists of a variety of tasks designed to develop group members on behavioral competencies and enhance their ability to work together effectively. The team building activities aim to strengthen interpersonal relationships between group members, break up the monotony and get the creative juices flowing.
