1. Curricular Aspects
Astha School of Management implements the curriculum provided by Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT) that offers a choice-based credit system. The institute follows Outcome Based Education and has well-developed Course Outcomes, Programme Objectives, and Programme Specific Objectives that are mapped, monitored and reported.
During the year, a revised syllabus was implemented by the University for the Admission Batch 2024–26, while Admission Batch 2023–25 continued with the existing syllabus as per the university norms. Separate academic plans were prepared to ensure smooth and effective delivery of both syllabi without academic overlap or disruption.
A well-designed and well-documented curriculum delivery process is in place. Academic Calendar of BPUT, events calendar of the institute and the institution time table ensures effective delivery of curriculum. Lesson plans are prepared by faculty members specifying learning outcomes, pedagogical tools and assessment methods.
To impart the curriculum novel teaching methods such as experiential learning through simulation, participative learning through peer work and problem solving through case analysis are administered. ICT platform enhanced the teaching learning experience. Capability enhancement under Competency Incubator & Assessment Centre (CIAC), Value Added Courses and other co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are also conducted as per the calendar.

The Institution has its own academic calendar aligned with BPUT calendar for commencement of semesters, internal exams, uploading internal marks in the BPUT portal, registration for University Exam, Conduct of University Exam, Semester break, Commencement and Conclusion of SIP and Declaration of Results.
The Semester Examinations are conducted by Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT). With a well-structured e-Governance system, all notifications regarding the examinations and results are available in the University portal.
However, institution conducts Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE) as per the Academic Calendar and Time Table. The evaluation process is continuous and transparent. Continuous Internal Evaluation (CIE), of 50 Marks for each subject, includes quiz, Project work/ field work/assignment/ student presentation, and class test. Internship is evaluated by internal guide and an external expert. Seminar presentation, in the fourth semester, is evaluated by the Subject Seminar Committee.
Additionally, aligning with the University calendar, the institute organizes different academic events like Student Induction Programme, Seminars, Research Conclave, Hackathon, Ideathon, international Conferences etc and celebrates different festivals and cultural fests. The Competency Incubator & Assessment Centre (CIAC) development model also has provision for CIE by using Quizzes, Psychometric Tests, Student Presentations etc.

The curriculum includes the subject Entrepreneurship & Legal Environment (MBEV 1004) inherently integrates key cross-cutting issues such as Professional Ethics, Gender Equality, Human Values, Environmental Sustainability. The course emphasizes ethical decision-making in entrepreneurial activities by covering topics such as business ethics, corporate governance, ethical compliance, and legal accountability. Students are sensitized to ethical practices related to fair trade, transparency, honesty, and responsible leadership while understanding laws governing business conduct.
Management Lessons From Ancient India (MBEV1005) inherently emphasize ethical leadership (Dharma), gender respect, human values, and harmony with nature, as seen in texts like the Arthashastra and Vedas. These principles align with modern crosscutting issues by promoting fair governance, social responsibility, inclusivity, and environmental stewardship within management education.
Health & Wellness (MBEV1202) in education promotes gender sensitivity and human values by encouraging respect, equality, empathy, and responsible behavior in personal and professional life. It also highlights the importance of a healthy environment and sustainable lifestyle practices for physical and mental well-being.
Universal Human Values, Ethics and Environment (MBEV1003) teaches the values such as professional ethics, social responsibility, integrity, respect for stakeholders, and community development are embedded in the subject .Students learn to balance profit motives with societal welfare, aligning entrepreneurship with moral and social values.
Addressing Gender Issues: Through various events and activities, issues related to gender and social stigma are addressed. International Women’s day is celebrated every year during which symposium, debate, poster making and movie shows are conducted.
Environment & Sustainability: Astha School of Management organizes “Fun with Purpose” a Student-driven initiative where students perform street plays or Nukkad-Nataks in local language to sensitize the rural and the semi-urban population about environmental and social issues.
Also under Social and Environmental Awareness (SEA) programme students plan activities like seminars, quiz contests, learning through games for students of local schools and colleges. Regular workshops and seminars are conducted on sustainability.
